Before he began selling his clothing and accessories all over the world, he started out selling his shoes in the back of a 40-foot trailer. In fact, in order to be able to park in the area where he was selling the shoes he had to become a film company, which were among the only besides utility companies who could get a parking permit in midtown Manhattan at this time.

He had some very successful moments even in his early days involved in clothing sales. For instance, after the making of a film called “The Birth of a Shoe Store” he sold over 40,000 pairs of shoes two and a half days.
